Strike 1

Where are we now….
We still haven’t gotten that cute little smiley face that gives us the go ahead for our IUI.  Since it is now past day 21 the IUI for this cycle has been cancelled. :(  I had some blood drawn yesterday to ensure I did not ovulate.  We should get those results back on Tuesday.  More than likely my meds will be increased or completely changed for our next cycle.  We will know more after the blood work comes back.

Article: Infertility Etiquette…
People say all sorts of things to you when they know you are going through a difficult time.  I know they do not mean to hurt, but sometimes they do.  Here are a few tips for talking with an infertile.
-          Don’t tell us to just relax, and it will happen.  Couples who are able to conceive after a few months of “relaxing” are not infertile.
-          Don’t say there are worse things that could happen.  Who is the final authority on what is the "worst" thing that could happen to someone? Is it going through a divorce? Watching a loved one die? Getting raped? Losing a job?
-          Don’t complain about your pregnancy.  You have every right to vent about the discomforts to any one else in your life, but don't put me in the position of comforting you.
-          Don't gossip about our condition.  Just ask us.  We are very open about it and it helps to talk about it and know you are thinking of us.  Please don’t talk behind our backs; just talk to us!

In other news…
We are currently in the midst of a remodeling project.  It all started with needing new blinds (the cats had destroyed our cheap plastic one.)  So we decided to splurge for the cordless type since this will be our nursery someday.  Because we were going to spend money on nice blinds we might as well replace the 85 year old windows.  From there the project just kept growing.  Below are a few pictures from the process…
